The blue-tailed skink's live up around Parry Sound where we cottage. This fella hangs around the deck and I caught him running amok. Music by Queen, Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon.

  • i just caught one today when i was taking out the garbage. do you know what the eat and what they like to live in? i have him in a pickle jar right now.

  • I'm not sure Meowskull, I like to watch them, but I have never caught one before. I found this on the internet, hope it helps. Chris

Blue - tailed skinks are a common name for a family of lizards. They live under dead logs and knotholes. They eat snails , insects , and fruit. So they evolved colored tails to draw the predators attention , this keeps them away from the head and trunk. They also have a striped body which is a confusing pattern for a predator.

  • That's a five lined skink.

  • Can you find those skinks near Lake Ontario? I've herd that they do, but I want to be sure. I want a pet lizard, but I'm a bit cheap... So finding one is a better way to get one.

  • i caught one today when i was looking for bugs
