Part 1 of 5: Making Homemade Wine. Destemming and Crushing the grapes and testing and adjusting the wine must. This wine video demonstrates the making of Merlot wine from a shipment of fresh Chilean grapes. The procedure for making this homemade wine is done in a step by step/day by day (story) method. I have also included some of my favorite audio clips from famous DeNiro movies and older Italian-American style songs in what I felt was a "humorous" manner that enhanced the enjoyment of these four videos. Topics in these five videos include: Making Homemade Wine, Winemaking Video, Making Homemade Merlot Wine, Winemaking, Homemade Wine, Chilean Grapes, Merlot Wine, Making Wine, Pressing Wine Grapes, Crushing Wine Grapes, Wine Fermentation, Racking Wine, Wine Press, Grape Crusher, Wine Yeast, Wine Must, Wine Siphoning, Testing Wine pH, Measuring Wine Acid, Testing Wine Sugar, Testing Wine Acid, Wine Hydrometer, Wine Additives, Wine Labels, PVC Bottle Seals, etc.

  • Dear Paul,

Thank you very much for the kind words. Providing the video was my pleasure!

  • I watched all 5 parts, what a great video, thank you for posting it. Where is a good place to Chilean grapes?

  • @imnophd

Hello. Well, since I now live in Maine, I order the Chilean Grapes through "Beer and Wine Hobby" in Massachusetts and then I have to pick them up (about a 2 1/2 hour drive each way.) The only reason that I ordered and used Chilean Merlot Grapes is because they are harvested/available in May! Thanks for your email.

  • Very cool,I start my batch today :-)

  • This paul from jakarta. really like the video that you provide.

very rarely there are people who so generously shared his knowledge with others.

    Thank you.

Very rarely. I experimented once with Thompson Seedless (which is not a wine grape) and I've made white wine from both Niagara grapes and Welch's Niagara Grape Juice. Neither were satisfactory. Many thanks for your email.

  • Great set of videos; I've been looking for a step-by-step on the home wine making. I've been contemplating on whether to buy a press and crusher; did you originally buy the #45 or did you have something smaller?

  • Excellent. Do you ever make white wine?
