INTRO:
Earthboy: Lacing up his concrete boots
And standing still on the ground while I leave for the moon
He's content with where he is, he doesn't show any fear
I just want to show him what's above the stratosphere...

VERSE 1:
He stands ten feet tall with long dark hair
Drags his knuckles on the ground and blows his smoke in the air
He's got a lot of baggage, and a pack to help carry some
But when he breaks down I watch his eyes turn into aquariums
He's tough because he knows the crash is going to hurt
But he also understands you break some bones at first
He doesn't bother sprouting wings- doesn't care to fly
But he gets lonely when his friends blast into the sky
So he spends his days and nights confined to the ground
Where he can practice building bombs and watch the cities burn down
He's the king and commander of his self-waged wars
Instead of waiting, now he kicks down opportunity's door

CHORUS:
And, oh, what I would give to get it all back
I'd build a ladder from the sky down to where he sits at
I'd fall back to earth if it would smother the pain
And I knew I wouldn't drown in the puddles of rain...

VERSE 2:
It goes death-birth-rebirth-redeath
And he's not dumb enough to talk with all the skeletons yet
He keeps digging himself deeper into the hole
Where he plans to hide her body when the nagging gets old
I see him walk with madness- the city street caskets
He's good at surviving and hiding under his mattress
And to all the rocketeers that pass him by
He shouts: EARTH BOY STAYS, OR EARTH BOY DIES!
Earthboy: Caught between heaven and hell
So now he wanders the world making fun of himself
Truth is, he's been in orbit and he's felt the pain
Wants to erase the memories of outer space from his brain

CHORUS:
And, oh, what I would give to get it all back
I'd build a ladder from the sky down to where he sits at
I'd fall back to earth if it would smother the pain
And I knew I wouldn't drown in the puddles of rain...

BRIDGE:
Earthboy- drag your feet through the dirt
Earthboy- forget how the memories hurt
Earthboy- get out of the box your in
And I'll show you how to burn without oxygen

VERSE 3:
Earthboy- load the gun and I'll show you the fun
This world could use a fresh coat of innocent blood
Your tongue could use a fresh coat of liquor and rum
So you can pass out in the corner while you twiddle your thumbs
And the crimson that runs through your quivering lungs
Is replaced with the thought of losing everyone
If you want to leave the earth and want to do it soon
Come to my galaxy, boy, we got plenty of room

CHORUS(X2):
And, oh, what I would give to get it all back
I'd build a ladder from the sky down to where he sits at
I'd fall back to earth if it would smother the pain
And I knew I wouldn't drown in the puddles of rain...
