The Bush Administration is flinching under a series of blows to its enemy combatant policy.

A U.S. appeals court which has ruled that the government cannot indefinitely detain an immigrant named Ali Al-mari without laying charges.

And twenty-five CIA agents face a judge in Rome...accused of kidnapping a muslim man who was flown to Egypt -- where he says he was tortured.

At the same time, European investigator Dick Marty has just released a report with what he calls proof of CIA secret prisons in Poland and Romania.

Michael Scheuer worked for the CIA for 22 years and is the author of Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror. Architect of the original rendition program under the Clinton administration, he defends the practice.

And there's more confusion about the legal status of Omar Khadr and other Guantanamo detainees. A military judge just threw out charges against Khadr accused of murdering a US soldier on the battlefield in Afghanistan when he was 15 years old.

For more on Gitmo's legal limbo, Avi talks to Michael Ratner, President of the Center for Constitutional Rights, who calls it a 'breakdown of justice'.

So there you go the human rights of non-Americans is unimportant to the American government and its agencies . Note Michael Scheuer is uninterested in International Laws or the Geneva Conventions. So if an innocent people are kidnapped and tortured by American personnel he couldn't care less. It is only American citizens that matter.Quite disturbing and saddening given the U.S. claim to be the only truly free and moral country in the world.

At least he was honest about the fact that American foerign policy creates terrorists, and at least he admitted that he is a jingoist who doesn't care about anything but america and the people from there. I'll take him over 100 Clintons or Bushes anyday.

It's a thrill for this guy, with spin to go. Oh the burdens of twitdom! Geneva Conventions? But he does say the policies bite and they're the policies of our elite.
