At last someone who actually read the book.
Gmork is an example of brave, honest, honorable oponent every true hero needs. In the book, with his bite, he actually saved Atreya from Nothing. Bravo for the clip.

I am about to read the book at the moment. Just at the beginning but this makes me really contemplative and sad too. Even the personified evil is still a being with feelings. Even the greatest murderer or rapist is probably only longing for love and concealment. In front of the childlike empress every being regardless of its attitude has the same value. By the way this song is so touching ...

Oh well, to each his own I guess.

@sweetvegan74 : no, it doesn't. :)

@amanogirl1 : quite oposite, the book IS child friendly (gmork saves atrey), and the movie advertises idiotic "good vs evil" bullshit. The book is also brain friendly - and the movie quite opposite.
but he a monster he evil

True, but in the book he explains why he is evil. He had no home and no one cared about him. He thought he had a friend in Gaya and that was a lie.

i used to be scared of gmork (from the movie). but when i read the book and saw this, i began to think that he's only a poor little doggy whose owner doesnt want him anymore :( it makes me sad.

He's evil in the original as well, but in the book you find out why he is the way he is. Sort of reminds me of a fable I posted on DA a while back. A farmer's wife found an orphaned wolf pup and decided to train and raise him, despite her husband's wishes. A year later when the sheep get loose, the farmer calls for his sheep dog which harrased the flock. The wolf was called and the animal directed the sheep back to the pen and went to the wife's side. The moral: villians are reared not born.
