Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Monday, November 5, 2007.

Actor Shia Labeouf had a run in with police over the weekend. The "Transformers" star was reportedly arrested at a Chicago drug store around 2:30am Sunday morning. A guard at the store alerted authorities when Labeouf was apparently intoxicated and refused to leave the store when he was asked. Police say he was very polite and courteous during the arrest. He was released later in the morning.

Hollywood writers are now on strike. The Writers Guild of America made no progress with producers, studios and networks yesterday...despite hours of talks aimed at finding a resolution. Screenwriters are reportedly demanding a share of money generated from DVD and online sales. The strike could mean late night shows like "Late Night with David Letterman" will go off air immediately...leaving re-runs and reality shows on viewers TV schedules. Picketing is set to begin in New York this morning.

Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington's new film ruled U.S. box offices over the weekend. "American Gangster" took the top spot, bringing in more than 46 million dollars in ticket sales. Jerry Seinfeld's new animated release "Bee Movie" followed closely behind in its first weekend out. "Saw IV" came in third.

Cycling star Lance Armstrong took on the New York Marathon over the weekend. He joined about 39 thousand other runners at the annual event. Armstrong says the race is a huge challenge. He trained more this year than the first time he ran the marathon in the big apple in 2006. He finished the race in 2 hours and 46 minutes. The winner of the whole event was Martin Lel from Kenya.

Christina Aguilera is confirming that the reports are true...she's pregnant. The pop star tells Glamour magazine she intends to be a working mom...balancing her busy touring and recording schedule with motherhood. This is the first baby for the singer and her husband, music executive Jordan Bratman. The pair married about two years ago in California.

That's all for now. Check out upi.com for your day's latest news and updates. Thanks for watching!
