It aslmost makes me sad to think that we are getting to the point when films like this will almost seem as far removed from the day we are in as films like the original Charlie and the Chocolate factory and Old Yeller were to me when I was getting into my early teens...but the memories still seem fresh! Personally I don't know if you get old when you stop dreaming, you get old when no one else but you remembers. Whilst I am here does anyone have the cool space age end music for this film?

The 80s were magic. Even blockbuster wannabees like Explorers had more magic then it knew what to do with.

From the magazine mentioned in earlier comments by me. I really wish Joe Dante had released a better DVD with ALL the missing and alternate footage. He has a website called Trailers From Hell, I think I'll ask him....

@dingorex The kissing pic was also in the Explorers Storybook. Dante has said he has no idea where the lost footage is now, but he thinks it will never be seen. I think there was a vid of him at a special showing of Explorers somewhere on Youtube,
