"You're not like him, you know..."

There is a darkness living inside Kadaj that is dangerous and unpredictable. He is a pawn, a puppet, an object used to fuel Sephiroth's power. But Reno thinks that Kadaj can fight that. Passed the violence, the anger, and the lies, Reno sees something else in Kadaj. Something that proves he is nothing like Sephiroth. Something that the Turk falls in love with.
Reno believes in Kadaj. He believes he can fight the darkness within him. But he is only allowing the Remnant one chance. Kadaj must hold on, he must be strong against the evil, or Reno would leave forever.
Reno knows it's a risk to love Kadaj. A...dance with the devil. But it's a dance he is willing to do for him.
In the end, Sephiroth's power is too strong for Kadaj, and it destroys him. Reno watches on, helpless, angry, heartbroken. As Kadaj lays dying, he thinks about all the times Reno was there for him, and only then realizes that he was loved by the Turk. No Remnant has ever been loved, and Kadaj fades away with a tearful smile across his face. Leaving Reno to end the evil once and for all.
