  • I have a kakariki female can someone tell me how to teach her to talk i been trying for a year. She is a year old.

  • @MyStefan1212 I believe some things they just pick up on their own but if you try saying different things you can tell which words get their attention. Keep saying that word or saying over and over for at least 15 minutes a day and they should learn it. Be sure you give them time in between you saying it for them to try. And Bridget likes to look inside your mouth as you say the words.

  • cute parrotie but did it actually talk back? i was only hearing the lady saying hello and not sure if i heard the parrotie. pretty colorful bird and beady eyes. do they fly low or high?

  • @aoiaaon she says hello in there somewhere. LoL In a soft sweet voice. I'm not sure if they fly high or low.. Briget is clipped.

  • One of the best talking parrots, one of the most beautiful parrots, but too bad they don't like to be cuddled cause I just cant resist my urge to pet them :)

I was once about to buy a pair of eclectus chicks (but didnt), got to hold them in my hands and they were the most adorable babies ever!

Dont know if ever going to buy a parrot in the future again. The proper care and attention they need is a very big responsibility.

  • @sadgreen Bridget is very affectionate and cuddly. She will put her head on a strangers shoulder and cuddle as soon as she meets them.

  • I had a Green Senegal Parrot. His name was Buddy. He was my best friend for 17 years. I am 32. He just passed away. I have never been so heartbroken in my life. He has been there forever and I thought we would die together... Parrots are truly a LIFE LONG commitment & they are not a novelty to show off. They need LOADS of love and affection and play time. My buddy was truly my sidekick...

  • I don't know about the males but Bridget did bite some in the beginning but one time I made believe I was crying after she bit me and she got all upset. She was blowing out a bunch like she wanted to say something and she ran up to me put her head on me and said, in a crying voice, "I'm sorry Momma..." I'll tell you, that gave me chills. She hasn't really bit since. :-)

  • at a year old your female is at the age where she'll start learning to speak more. The females dont have huge vocabularies...my female is 12 and she only says a few words but my male talks up a storm.

  • @MyStefan1212

they pick up what they want to pick up normally. I have 3 eclectus and an african grey. I've tried to teach them stuff and sometimes they just refuse to say it. Or someone will come over and try to get them to say something and they wont but a week later they'll start. My motherinlaw was here for a few weeks and was trying to my male to say oink oink like a pig..and he never did. 2 days after she left, he started saying it all the time.

  • @HorseLover1015 AWwwww how sweet! Bridget told me she was sorry once too.

  • @Nadja4be Bridget thanks you!

  • @KellyisGhost Bridget went through a biting stage but never bit my kids.. only me! :-? I once made believe I was crying when she did and she got all upset and said "I'm sorry momma..." never said that before and never said it again..

  • @streetboxing7493 thank you!

  • @Tyuo2010 LoL.. you're right!
