I AM THE STANDARD is a collaboration of thirteen inspirational shorts shot in New York City. This film showcases diversity utilizing scenes surrounding politics, gender, race, sexuality, impairment, mental illness, religion, and body image.

I AM THE STANDARD is a celebration of individuality. Celebrating your individuality is the first step towards becoming the best you you can be. To reach your highest level of self you must revert back to the basics. Basic: Love of Self.

Today, many of us live for the latest coverage of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Barack Obama, George Bush, the war in Iraq, the MacBook Air, and the iphone. Youve caught the wrong message if youve become obsessed with people you dont know or items you dont have. Become enraptured with yourself, and you will experience greatness beyond belief. Celebrate your individuality, flaws and all, and you will rise above all real and conceived limitations.

If Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, George Soros, Bill Clinton, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Michael Jordon, and Michael Jackson were caught up in people, places, and things that kept their eyes off their prize they wouldnt have earned the status they presently hold. Once you become THE STANDARD in your mind, there wont be a mountain you cant climb.

Starring (In Order of Appearance): Jared Cleary, Sean Allison, Lamar Richardson, Laverne Cox, Alex Markhasin, Jasmine D. Scott, Joel Luna, Mohammad Maaty, Tim Sharkey, Yvonne Felder, Robert Arensen, Kelly Marie-Bryant, Mugsy, Lacy DeVeney, Wendy Branciforte, Rigo Ramirez, Oriana Lewton-Leopold, Amanda Graham, Chike Nwabukwu, Jenna Elsamman, Ellina Graypel, Jewell Cambridge, Lindsey Friedberg, Saqib Hasan

  • I really enjoyed this. It shows there's really nothing different between all of us. I didn't understand why that anorexic girl was there at first, but I it made sense later. I like how she got over her inhibitions.

  • @SaltShakerIsME so glad you enjoyed!!

  • Very Thought Provoking. Was the last scene really at Ground Zero?

  • would i be the standard if i came out in the middle of all this pro-comments and said it sucked?

    just kidding its damn awesome.

  • This short film isn't short enough. And just because you've got coloreds and midgets in it doesn't make it more meaningful. Drive your Prius off a mountain.

  • Attention everyone just found out an hour ago that the NAACP,NAN & NBPP Have been in contact with the The 18 and 14 year olds mom and family and such And because they only had a public defender They are paying in secret for a better lawyer And have also gave the mom and 2 girls a story that should help them build up sympathy and self defense So just so you all know that this is them saying they support both of there action's And that hiding it is an attempt to act like they dont support them!!!!
