I love this video, but my humble opinion is that Heifetz' version is better. Vengerov is still somewhat young, and the version I listened to was when Heifetz was fairly old. Heifetz' playing is like a tornado, as Perlman would say, but Vengerov's is a storm brewing, growing ever larger. Also, I like Vengerov's way of communicating through facial expressions but I like Heifetz' way of cold aptitude better. However, I consider Vengerov one of the best alive violinists in the world.

Sounds not even close to Heifetz... Not saying it's bad, but when comparing to Heifetz there's a hole lot of things being played differently...
