Pastor Stephen Bohr discusses two Sabbath objections from a book by an ex Seventh-day Adventist.

It's clear that the Ten Commandments are kept by those who love the Lord, and that the seventh-day Sabbath is for us today, as it's meaning is shown in Hebrews 4.

But the two issues covered in an ex Adventist's book were questions I didn't know the answer to, or even catch the timing of what transpired during the creation week. Thank you Pastor Bohr for your clear explanation.

This is why I question your "studying":

You made a claim that Ellen White denied Jesus' divinity when she stated Jesus when He was a MAN was not Almighty, but if you had bothered to read the preceeding and following paragraphs, you would have read Mrs. White plainly and clearly stated that

    1) our Lord Jesus "did not cease to be God when He became man" (see also John 8:58) and

    2) Jesus is "Equal with the Father" (see also John 10:30, Heb 1:3).

"Equal with the Father, honored and adored by the angels, in our behalf Christ humbled Himself, and came to this earth to live a life of lowliness and poverty—to be a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Yet the stamp of divinity was upon His humanity." 5BC 1129.3

Come on now, even the Bible writers themselves "plagiarized" from each other without giving reference to the previous Bible author credit. As an example, read Isaiah 2 and Malachi 4 (I believe). Additionally, I think it's the book of Mark that is considered the earliest Gospel; NONE of the other Gospel writers give credit to Mark for borrowing ideas and writings from him. Shall we dispense of the Bible because of it? Be consistent.

  • @belojo2003

Letting Scripture explain itself, Jesus plainly tells us He is Lord of the seventh Day. The Lord's Day.

I'd encourage you to stop listening to the vain commandments of men (which behind all false arguments is Satan), and instead live by every word which proceeds from the mouth of God.

  • @belojo2003

There is no mystery or argument concerning the Lord's Day, which Day Jesus claims authority to teach about and Lordship of. Jesus tells us plainly:

"And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27-28, see also Matt 12:8, Luke 6:5.

  • @Nirky . John had a vision on "the Lord's Day". Rev 1:10

This expression is nowhere to be found in the Bible. We could argue what John is trying to imply here. However, if we go to secularly sources, written in the same time frame as when the book of Revelation was written, all these sources indicate that "the day of the resurrection of the Lord, that is, the Lord's day" Didache (90 AD), Constitutions of the Holy Apostles, Book XXX.

SDAs think sunday worship came on mid 300 A.D.

    Oops!

  • @belojo2003

We ought to worship Him everyday (Acts 2:26, 5:42), but only one Day is holy & sanctified. It's not Sunday, but it is the seventh Day, the Lord's Day. Gen 2:2-3, Ex 20:8-11, Mark 2:27-28, Rev 1:10.

Satan tries every method to get us from seeing the plain truth in front of us. But if we want to know His truth, God's word is plain and clear. That's because He loves us and wants us to stay far away from sin.

  • @belojo2003

I agree that there are some who count themselves among the remnant church but live a secret (or not so secret) lifestyle of breaking God's Commandments. The same could be said of every church.

But that some are hypocrites, pointing out sin while they themselves live a lifestyle of breaking the Ten Commandments, does not in any way lessen or negate the fact that Satan has deceived many to live a lifestyle of breaking one of God's Commandments--His 4th Commandment.

  • @NirkyYes, I agree with you in that many who accused her are living contrary to the Bible. It could also be said to some SDAs who condenm people worshiping on sunday while they are living in adultry, lies, and are wordy people

No, I didn't admit plagiarism in the Bible. The problem is how could in her book "The Great Controversy", for example, from pages 317 to 449, Ellen copied from the book "Life Incident" by James who also copied from J. N. Andrews works

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR HER FAULT

  • @belojo2003

That those who nevertheless claim "plagiarism" the loudest are also the SAME who live CONTRARY to the Bible standard of wrong and right, sin and righteousness, should give us pause. Great pause.

If we really want to know what is truth, we ought to research ourselves. And most importantly, we must purpose in our hearts FIRST to follow the truth, no matter where it takes us. Only those who do this receive His Holy Spirit. Acts 5:32. God bless you in you walk with the Lord Jesus.

  • @belojo2003

It is this portion of her writings that she--infrequently--used ideas and words from other authors. Well read, she no doubt liked the way they spoke a particular concept or had a good insight. She must have thought "Couldn't have put it better myself" and used it. This accounts for under 2% of her writings, falls under the legal standard of "fair use" today, and is not considered plagiarism.

  • @belojo2003

For example, if God gave her a vision--what she saw--of lost people thinking they were following Christ but actually receiving their direction from the enemy, from Satan, then after writing that visual account down she would discuss at length the spiritual causes, implications and remedy. How were the lost deceived? What did they do or not do that left them open to Satan's lies? What can we do to not be deceived?
