After we get the FairTax, prices will NOT rise. Our standard of lising will likely RISE, because our taxes will go slightly down.  Taxes will likely go down because more people will be will paying taxes, since illegals and criminals will finally start paying, since they have to buy retail items. Our standard or living might rise, since corporations will no longer need to pay out $900 per US person for tax advice and experts. The poor will benefit the most since they'll be completely untaxed.

taxdog...as to your question about OVERstimulation of the economy, sure it could be bad if inflation occurs and wages do not follow, however, with some of the even modest projections of economic growth that would occur after passage, that would be the least of my worries personally. I don't think goods shortages would be a concern. If things go THAT well, businesses would have the capital to maintain supplies. Imagine that problem though? Having to hire more & more people to do that?

What is the difference between you buying yourself a loaf of bread and your state buying one for you? Besides the fact that you pay the government to buy the loaf of bread, nothing. You consume it either way, and both you and the state currently pay the embedded cost of income capital gain, corporate income and other taxes.

Exempting government consumption will cause every one will ask the government to give them everything.

Though this is an hour long, it is a MUST see. Know what we can do to really, honestly, fairly, get our nation back on a solid foundation. Combine this with the battle to force govt into decreased spending, we'd be flying high. Enact Fair Tax first and immeidately, and continue to fight the federal spending battle, chipping away at it a piece at a time.

So why wouldn't we want the best tax system currently known to man, the most researched, one that even the professionals admit is far better than our present tax code?!!
