  • shame it had all that r/bull crap on it !

  • Very high peace time loss rate!

  • @stretchmark8 Yeah, it looks much better now! I need to get to England to see stuff like this and the Vulcan fly. (Also the Sea Hawk.)

  • Beautiful beastie.

  • @Mikakk2 He didn't lay flat on his belly at all...he was sat in a Martin Baker ejection seat, just like the pilot.

  • @shackvan I have to say the second crewman had a pretty rough ride if he ejected, with a metal panel above his head instead of a perspex canopy. They didn't always open as designed.....

  • In order to keep it in the sky, it was best to attain the colours of Red Bull for that particular season. They had the funds to maintain and keep it airworthy that year. It is now back in RN colours and looks marvellous.

  • Its flying at the Bournemouth Air Festival 28th - 31st August 2008 having raised the £300k to get its CoA

  • I was biking through Dorset two or three years ago; a quick visit to Bournemouth Airport. And then she came: the twin booms, formidable sound. And then out stepped the tall, very well-spoken pilot. He motioned my way. What a gentleman. The 'Vixen is a serious piece of Fleet Air Arm metal.
