@RosesLilium It's artistic license. Except the original Beatrice (who was blonde), none of the humans are supposed to have the unusual hair colors they do; in other words, they're all black-haired. But Ryu decided to spice things up a bit.

krauss seemed like a bad guy in the first arc

turns out he isnt, he's just not so bright, and was born into a situation in which intelligence/savvy is of the utmost importance. probably resulted in an inferiority complex he tried to cover with arrogance

it doesnt excuse his behavior toward his siblings/*minor spoiler, you probably guessed anyway* squandering the inheritance, but most of his attitude can be laid at kinzo's feet.
