Today we are going to show you part number 8156DPS from Master Lock. What we have here is our Quantum steel cable lock that is 5 foot long. The cable itself is a braided steel cable that by nature resists cutting and sawing. It has one looped cable end for increased versatility. The cable itself is 3/4 inch thick. The key goes in this side here gives it a turn and the lock comes apart. You latch it back over in place and you turn and lock it back up. Now we will show you a typical application. The D lock part looks only about a hlaf inch thick, what is the material used in that?

@sonofhendrix We pulled the part from our warehouse to measure it for you. You are correct. The U part is .55 inches thick and the part that inserts into the lock (tip of U) is .472 in thick. We also called our contact at MasterLock for information on the construcion of the U-Bolt. It is constucted of high-securety, harded steel.
