In the time before Christmas we always gave away free tie-dye hairbands with an order. This year we added a twist by requiring a donation to get the hairband. So the hairband was not technically free any more but as the donation could be any amount, even one penny, it was close enough to be called free. But our customers were a real disappointment - nobody took us up on the one-penny option. Everybody who did want to have a hairband gave more - in one case even more than the hairband would have cost. The donation given will go in full to support the up-bringing and education of children in the developing world. We sponsor a bunch of children with a percentage of our earnings at http://www.Thaidye.com since the very beginning, but this year we wanted to create this win-win situation for our customers and our foster kids - hey, it worked!
