This comment is a FAKE. There are almost identical comments about Adderall and Dexedrine. The one difference is about the word "Ritalin" is substituted with "Adderall".

@c0ncerta You seem like a bullet proof young person that doesn't want to hear that there are things that can take you out of this life early. We have free will and look what we choose to do. It is like we think drugs are going to cure everything. What is wrong with being a C or D student and being in control of your brain.

when are people going start to realize its the DOCTORS who are pushing this very unsafe drug,my nephews life is ruined due to his mum constantly giving him this shit,he is now like a zombie after 18 yrs.what would you rather have...a child who is full of energy and who is slightly annoying due to there hyperactivity or a brain dead zombie..the choice is yours...(if your not an unfortunate child who has no say in your phycological demise).
i write this almost shaking with anger !.

not really. it just seems like someone with a medical interest documenting the effects of her legally prescribed medication for the education of others. The video is really interesting, much more so than ant counting :P
My 22 yr old son died from his addiction to Ritalin or Methylphenadate. Addiction is not a choice in all cases. We parents give the drugs to our children because a teacher and a psychiatrist has told you it will help. These doctors never warned us of the dangers, they just icreased the dosage. My son was a straight A student in college when his world fell apart and he could not control the damage of this highly addictive drug.He asked me why God gave him this curse, and why we gave him the drug.

sorry to hear that, and yes, as for young children, i also agree with the statement; i'd be very, very, VERY careful to give any drugs (no matter if they're antidepressants, painkillers, or ritalin) to my children. after all, if YOU as a parent set your mind on the drug and that your kid has to take it, there's nothing he or she can do against it. also, effects on the *developing* brain are unpredictable.
for adults, however, i think every person has to make their own choices...

@bionerd23 i attempted suicide coming off of a ritalin binge... or rather, i sliced my arm clean open with a bread knife. luckily, my boyfriend was standing in front of me. i had an eight hour surgery to repair 11 of 12 tendons, 2 blood vessels, and 2 major nerves in my arm. i can tell you that a life with irritable adhd symptoms and no medication is more managable than one with depression and disability. i used to be a server and CNA. i am currently unemployed and reshaping my life at age 24

ritalin BINGE? well, if you abuse it, it's dangerous, same as speed or whatever, sure. apart from that - with therapeutic doses - everybody reacts differently to a drug, i guess. like, i never lose my appetite, even though that seems to be occurring in most people who take ritalin.

@ruelmeeks88
dont randomly stop medication you've been prescribed. ask the doctor about it; it may have a whole different reason. get an ecg done, maybe a 24-hours logging one. or, AFTER TALKING TO YOUR DOCTOR, try out if quitting the drug for a week or more makes you feel better.
