really like the dreamy bluriness, saw the link on flickr, it is wonderful when she smiles and laughs, good music, remarkable likeness to experimental videos I saw in 1968 at the visual studies department, I can't express how this touches me, wow!

Hi Ive got some questions about the pixelvision camera if anyone has any answers.. So I've got the camera and nothing else, no original tape, no monitor box nothing like that. Ive got a phono to arial lead which is running into a Win TV box to USB thing I have which runs with a programme which will supposedly pick it up on channel 3 or 4.. Is there a specific type of tape you have to use with this thing? cos im just using normal FE type 1 cassette tape at the moment.. THANKS

Boards of Canada! well done....
If I had to guess, it looks like you removed the IR cut filter.

Good guess ;-) Actually, I had to because it had fogged over. From what I've read, it's a common problem with these cameras.

great video!! did you film by audio tapes or you used camera recording by rca cable to an other digital input (other camera or mp4 recorder ?)...see my video in pixel vision!

I didn't use audio cassettes. The belts in the transport were worn out, so I couldn't get it to record reliably. I did the composite output mod with the signal amp. It was pretty easy. I found all the components I needed for the amp from an old CRT monitor. It makes the picture coming off the composite output much brighter. The only complaint I have is that the image is too "perfect." You really see how low-res and blocky the CCD is with this mod!

I like this video a lot. As the previous commentator said, the roughness of the PXL2000 certainly helps to juxtapose the imagery of the subject. Good choice of location, movements and music as well. Everything is smooth except for the quality of the visual thus drawing attention by default to the content. Good job. When and where was this filmed?

Thanks! It's a fun camera. This was shot about a year ago at the Sepulveda Dam in Los Angeles. I've been dying to shoot a "sequel" to this video. Hopefully it'll be soon!
