@jammamas I felt that way myself once upon a time. I met my wife at age 32, but I didn't know it yet. She was a professor at the community college I went to with my GI bill. We were both involved with other people (in relationships that eventually failed), and there was nothing there between us for the two years I was there. Five years after, as chance would have it, we got in touch again. Long story short, I'd found the One. It sometimes happens that way.

@jammamas One knows; for it's never to late. It is obvious you have style , class & great taste in music. So never say never. Your Wonderful One could be just around the corner.Remember the Latin proverb: "He who endures prevails"

Yeah if I ever get married this would be a great 1st dance. Probably won't ever happen though. I'm turning 37 next month so if it hasn't happened yet, it probably never will. lol The flipside to the feeling this song gives is Time by Alan Parson's Project. Check it out. Replies welcome

OMG, I LOVE this song and the movie. BTW, it's called Biloxi Blues and it's absolutely hilarious! Christopher Walken steals the show as Sgt. Toomey. I love him because he is a riot when he's trying to be serious!

Yes, it was a great movie!
Probably my most favourite scene is when the guys are talking about Rowena, & how a girl knows when a guy "has one."
One of them says "because your eyes roll over peaches!"

I really like this slower and mellow version of this song. As many sharps and minors there are in this song, the slowness and mellowness really does this song much more justice.

Thanx CookyPuss1127 for posting this rendition of this great jazz standard. It's my favorite version of How High The Moon. Do you know who the vocalist is? I love the slow sensual tempo coupled with her vocals gives the song a haunting quality . The movie was great too. The opening scene with that old train crossing that girder span gently rocking from side to side is so fitting.Classic song & a classic movie. After hearing this version in 1987 nothing else can compare. Simplemente brillante!!!!
Gorgeous, thank you for posting this..my Lord, how gorgeous..
