"Such a love" Words & Music by Doug Payne ©2009:

Lyrics:

She needs a new man, something better.
She told him he must pack away.
Respect all her wishes, and forget her
And stop calling up every day.

On the phone she laughs and then she cries.
Shes dizzy a tear in her eye.
Then he turns on the charm evreything´s alright.
But its hard to stay calm and they fight.

Shes tired of being a rich mans mistress.
Hes sorry he can not move on.
But hes there for her now in all her distress.
Can such a love ever be wrong?

He dreams of the days when they would meet
He was just like a pup at her feet.

The illness most likely wont stop her.
In his heart every minute there´s a prayer.
In the end he will walk away with the Doctors.
Shell no longer be needing their care.

Shes tired of being a rich mans mistress.
Hes sorry he can not move on.
But hes there for her now in all her distress.
Surely such a love can never be wrong

  • HI Guys.

I dont have the words like Lefty above. But I do believe you both know what you and your music mean to me. I sit here in my home all alone and sing with you Doug. Thanks to both of you Rick and Doug.

    The Yank in Washington State.

  • We truly thank you for such a generous comment! Bless you!

    Rick

  • Plato made one statement with which I fully concur when he wrote that "The unexamined life is not worth living." This has become one of the most important factors in my approach to artistic and literary criticism. The most important question is, does the artist bring his life experiences to the work and does he convey any meaning by relating those experiences? I would say, Rick, that you and Doug both do so, in a manner which all can enjoy whether they seek peace or stimulus in the music.

  • I feel honored Lefty, Thanks Buddy

    Rick

P.S. As I said before, sometimes your comments are better than the scource

  • Well done, indeed. The visuals are a little more subdued than usual, and appropriately so, given the more melancholy mood. I thought that the image of the dancing dolls in the bell jar was a perfect allegory for a soul trapped in a no-win situation, but not wanting to walk away from it.

  • You certainly are a keen fellow Lefty, thanks Pal

    Rick
