He's Still A Little Boy

I wrote and own this song. I hold the copy rights to this song. I wrote it from my heart in about 10 min when I heard my son had broken his hip and I was unable to get to the base to be with him for his surgery. We watch our little boys out playing "Army Man/Solider" with their friends when they are little boy. And one day they tell you. "Mom I joined the Military" Every Mother is full of pride for her son to serve our country, but the comment we say over and over is he's still my little boy no matter how old or how big he gets. In my heart He is and will always be Still a little boy, Playing games of war.

My Marine son deploys soon. The date on the calendar robs me of the ability to breath sometimes. For the first time in his life I can't protect him. I'd gladly take his place. It's frustrating feeling like everyone sees the big tough Marine ready to serve his country because even when he's standing there in his dress blues I picture a little boy in a uniform that swamps him.
