@Gine012 No. India is poor because they have a billion people to feed, just like China. China makes as much money, if not more money than the US, but why are most of their population poor? Because they have over a billion people to feed. They have more things to worry about than going to space, like making sure their peoples don't die of starvation, that's why they spend all their money on the people, and the rest on stuff like Space.

I said "stopping scientific progress is NOT d solution".
Ok ,let me simplify what I've written earlier:-
what i tried to say is that, if d govt. stops spending in space programs & divert the funds towards welfare of the poor then those extra funds will again be looted by our politicians, so its better 2 allocate more funds for scientific R&D.

@somnathsn wt do u know abt space research anyways? wr do u think weather info, telemedicine, distance education,TV channels n other such things tht define d INFORMATION ERA of today come from?did u know tht india launches satellites for other countries at a as cheap a price as they can ever manage?and tht would mean REVENUE.dont give away random statements ask urself if u've payed ur taxes correctly or have voted for the right person and then question the reason behind scientific progress.
