Macs are not expensive

There will probably be a follow up to this vid but I wanted to take a moment to comment on why I don't believe Macs are expensive especially when you see what you're getting and what Apple's real competitors are putting out.

I just think it's funny that the cost of my $1300 custom desktop with a core i7 and radeon 4890 has the same performance specs as the $2900 Mac pro.... just saying.

@twistedmetal976 You do not have a workstation computer. You have a custom build that is probably very good. But workstations are required to do things that a standard PC isn't able or built to do. I don't doubt your custom pc is nice but don't get hung up on the idea that your box equals the Mac Pro. And the low end Pro should be getting an update soon... February-ish.

Apple operating margin is 29.12% ! They could nearly drop 30% of their prices and still make a profit. Apple products are overpriced . I rest my case.

@Warrantti Your point is only valid if you can show that HP, Dell, Asus, Acer etc... operate at less than the 30% margin that Apple has. And not on one or two products. I mean the whole company.

But you are comparing top dollar computer vs top dollar computer, you are not comparing to low range computers with comparable hardware or home built.

he makes some valid points. i have a tower i built for alittle of nothing on tiger. something i can not to with osx. windows allows me to do all the things i want to. i run games, recode media, surf the net. i guess i'm pleased easily. windows xp and 7 are hard to beat in terms of stability in my own experience. i have fixed many issues that people have created of their own ignorance. seems to me if people would learn a bit, there would be no debate.

okay okay. macs are expensive because their system MAC OS X is not sold to non-apple systems and you know i hate this. MACS AND LINUX ARE FOR SMART PEOPLE. WINDOWS FTW.
