I would really recommend anyone changing the oil and filter on a Rover V8 engine, to first drain the oil, then refill with fresh oil.
Then change the filter (which can be part filled with oil)
This will prevent you having to reprime the oil pump, which you might have to do if you drain the oil and remove the filter at the same time

@triumphtr779 Yeah, they're not the greatest. This particular car is being woken up after a long nap, so it's getting a couple fairly rapid oil changes, thus the FRAM filter.
