Kansas' original lineup took names and kicked ass. Shame that Monolith sold less than Point of Know Return and Leftoverture. This was Kansas' best album. Kerry Livgren's songwriting, guitar work (he was better than Rich Williams in my view) and odd keyboard contributions and Steve Walsh's voice and keyboards were at its peak. This was also the last time Phil Ehart used one bass drum on his kit before he switched to double bass kits.
