This is the 2nd movement from the most popular concerto being played today. This movement is the most famous. It was composed in a hotel room the night that Rodrigo lost his son during childbirth and his wife was struggling to stay alive. This movement has inspired many jazz artists to interpret Rodrigo's music including Miles Davis, Jim Hall and Chick Corea. The guitar Larry uses is made by the wonderful instrument maker John Gilbert.

  • Is it the "John Gilbert" guitar? Sounds good. Very poetic and emotional performance.

  • Yes, Larry is playing a 1980's cedar top John Gilbert guitar.

  • Larry is playing with the Classical Philharmonic orchestra in 1996 conducted by Lawrence Kohl.
