Joan Okorodudus vibrant collection is a feast for the eyes and a soothing treat for the body. Her fabric choices are soft and voluminous, while the colors pop in a way that just sings spring. The collection highlights traditional indigenous fashion styles while remaining accessible to the modern woman. Garments focus on elongating the female form while playing with social constructs, such as aprons, big belted tops, and other current fashion trends. Most garments incorporate a contrast between the hard and the soft, be it in color, texture, or fabric choice. One outfit of particular note is the whimsical tube top with floral train. The colors are bold without clashing, structured without being too stifled. The entire collection is fun, balanced and wearable, which is what women want.

In her second appearance at Couture Fashion Week, Lagos-based designer Joan Isisoma Okorodudu will present her latest collection for the House of Jola fashion label. The runway show was held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the iconic Grand Ballrom at the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on New York's Park Avenue. Part of a collective of outstanding Nigerian designers, the show promises to be a festive and memorable event.
