The runways of Fashion Week are traditionally just reserved for whats next in couture, but this year it was surprise musical performance by Farrad that really shook the crowd at the 2009 Haute Off The Press event at La Pomme on September 14, sponsored by mark. Cosmetics and hosted by The Flight of the Concords Kristen Schaal.

Farrads unique pop/dance/funk music and trend-making looks always cause quite a stir and this was no exception. Even the most contemplative audience members were cheering and jumped to their feet with applause when he performed songs off his debut album, The Time Is Now, starting with Misunderstood and closing with his lead single Pick Your Face Up Off The Floor. The designers at Haute Off The Press also shined. Kathy Misick, Hunter Dixon, Kara Janx, Erna Leon and jewelry designer Mona Assem dazzled the jam-packed house of fashionistas and trendsetters.

Tickets were sold out within days and this year 10% of sales went to support the New York Womens Foundation. After stellar reviews for Farrads just-released debut album, its no surprise hes already snagged a licensing deal with Bunim/Murray Productions for 7 premier shows on MTV, E! and Oxygen.
