Dear John... starred Judd Hirsch as easy going high school teacher John Lacey who is dumped by his wife, Wendy, via a Dear John letter. Wendy ends up with everything in the divorce settlement, including custody of the couple's son, forcing John to move into an apartment in Queens.

John soon joins the One-2-One Club, a self help group for divorced, widowed or lonely people. The group is led by Louise (Jane Carr), a sex obsessed British woman. Other members of the group include Kate McCarron (Isabella Hofmann), a sweet divorcée, Kirk Morris (Jere Burns), a cocky ladies' man seemingly stuck in the '70's, Ralph Drang (Harry Groener), a shy and neurotic tollbooth collector, and Margie Philbert (Billie Bird), a feisty senior citizen.

This is such a RIOT to find!! How wonderful. I am the vocalist who sang this! I am SO sharing this to my facebook friends. My name, then, was Wendy Talbot. I have remarried and am now Wendy Francisco. The song producer was Bill Maxwell, a great musician. Just a blast from the past to find this - thanks for posting.

I used to watch this all the time, looked forward to it every week. I found it endearing with the different personalities from Jere's "vavoom!!" to Mrs...forgot her name, the lady who led the divorce class and whose pet phrase was "sexual situations." Also, the gal who befriended John and who i always hoped would forge a relationship with Judd, but never happened. But the best thing about the series was the singing! I LOVED your voice, and saw it was Wendy Talbot, but could never find anything.

I'm sure he's amazing along with the traveling. A Christian friend of mine from John Denver circles shared a YT video of Don singing and playing guitar and it was terrific. She thought it was terrific. I think you were on the video (this was months ago) but I didn't connect "Wendy Francisco" with "Wendy Talbot" until I saw this video. Small world! I don't know if she knows about the show.

He did a great job looking stunned when he read Wendy's letter. I laughed out loud at all those wild situations he found himself in on the program.

Wow...that's awesome! He did a great job on this show. My part took place in a different studio, away from where the show as filmed. But I did get to watch one taping. It was just great.

How did Wendy get everything? From the note it seemed like it was a civil breakup. Not like John was cheating on her or was a jerk. I know I am probably look to into the plot of a 80s sitcom but it just doesn't make sense.
