  • i looked up the score for taxi driver this is not it.... please find where the music came from... holla it goes so perfect..

  • @tinkerbell1138 On the film score, the tracks that appear in the actual film are on the CD, but this tune, entitled, "Betsy in a White Dress" actually comes from the part of the score called "additional interpretations." I believe these additional interpretations did not make it to the film. So, you're right, this tune was not in the film, but it is part of an "additional" score for the film, if that makes sense.

  • The Music is perfect.... 0:55..... where is that ... I'm from DA Bronx.. I have seen that view many times but never knew were it was...

  • @tinkerbell1138 According to another viewer of the video, the location at 0:55 - 0:56 is 46 Washington Street, Brooklyn, New York, NY Looking North. :)

  • love it! what's the name of the song?

  • @bleuboia The music is by composer Bernard Herrmann (1911 - 1975) who was born in NYC and who wrote music for many American films, particularly Alfred Hitchcock, (Psycho) -- this particular piece of music was for Taxi Driver, filmed in the summer of NYC in 1975.

  • I was born in the Village in '64 and practically grew up in NYC in the 1970s and these images bring back a ton and a half of memories--GOOD memories, too! Like Weedhoppers51 mentioned: it certainly has a whole different feel to it.....in fact as far as I'm concerned, New York lost its true style and soul over a decade and a half ago and now it is New York City BUT ONLY BY NAME!!

  • Back when NYC was really NYC. I grew up in the 70's and I don't think I really appreciated the city for what it was back then. Anyway I look back on those days days very fondly. The city may have been bolstered cosmetically since then by the technology era but it has a whole different feel to it now.

  • @slobomotion super awsome memory. Thats what new york is supposed to be. Now its souless. it should be a place where around each corner could be something terrifying or wonderful.

  • Great! I lived in NY for nearly 20 years and arrived a terrified, alone 20 year old in 1977. I liked the Central Soda Lunch just south of Union Square, where for a dollar on insomniac nights over my punk rock boyfriend I could get pancakes. I was on a five dollar per day budget and sold shoes my first year there. After being a live in servant in Westchester from Ohio. Wow, was I ever out of my element!

  • Love that pic at 0:52

  • This new york, us real new yorkers cherished and loved is lost.... it's gone, will it come back? who knows!! Now it's a new york for rich foreigners, hipsters and yuppies from the midwest, and sarah jessica parker who doesnt even come from NYC!

  • @ursa41: Did you ever run into Dr Kananga?
