Stretching A Hammock Across Smith Creek

Getting off the Appalachian Trail, we needed a shower. We drove over to Unicoi State Park and got a room at the lodge. Once cleaned up, we headed to Helen, GA for a lunch and went back to the park. We found a picnic shelter with a creek and plenty of shade trees nearby.

ou gave me a good idea! That's one way to get my wife out camping...I will just have my son do a thru hike and she will have us out there like you, waiting for him to show up. It might just get her out there doing the thru hike as well...lol

@mzimmerman12 That should work. If you are serious, you may want to purchase "The A.T. Guide". It list GPS locations of all road crossing/trailheads and list which ones allow camping. While Matt was out, I stayed at one site for 2 nights, because it was remote and had perfect tent sites and firerings. At the others I just camp 1 night each. Thanks for watching, Briz
