Something seems to be wrong with all of your videos, they are stretched. I would think it is my computor but it only happens with your shows. Hope it can be fixed as I use them for my repairs, on my car.

what does too much backlash do and what does too little do?

Too much backlash will cause driveline sloppiness and reduced tooth contact. Too little backlash can increase friction however a drag race rear end should have backlash set to the tight side for full gear tooth contact.
