Here Come The Waves: The Hazards of Love Visualized Trailer

We are pleased to announce the official release of Here Come the Waves: The Hazards of Love Visualized, a collaboration between the band and four filmmakers, Guilherme Marcondes, Julia Pott, Peter Sluszka and Santa Maria -- each of whom have created an animation to accompany a section of the music. At Royce Hall on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles on October 19, The Decemberists will perform the entire piece synchronized with the animation, as well as an additional second set of older and newer material.

Its underwater, and fairly simple to do. Hardest part is making a flower. The rest is hosing, coloring, a squeeze tube, and glitter. (Or a compressed system for that matter).

Just out of sheer curiosity, does anyone know how they did that part where those plant-like things were squirting out clouds of coloured ink-like stuff and glitter and stuff like that? I was wondering if it was done underwater or something? Anyone know?

haha I watched this when I was high and it was FANTASTIC. It is still fantastic when you are not high also. :)

I love the album. Still unconvinced that this "visualizer" is all its made out to be. Too abstract. It's pretty, I'll give it that, but I don't think its the only, nor the best, way to express this amazing piece of music. Check out "Hazards of Love Movie Trailer" for something a little different. ;)
