Yum yum. I only had matsutake once, it's a very nice mushroom, but I think it's kind of overvalued specially in Japan.
I grew up in the forest in Sweden, so I picked mushrooms all my life, most people here do. Trumpet of death is my most favorite one, and other chantarelle types. There are over a hundred types of good mushrooms here but most people just pick chantarelles, king boletes and slippery jacks, many good ones are left unpicked. Also you can sell them for big money to lazy city people.
