EDIT: I must sincerely thank those of you who have left such kind comments and messages here and elsewhere! I appreciate your generosity and constructive criticism very much. Many, many thanks.
Hello all! It certainly has been a while!
This video is relatively uninspired ... but it beats my original thought (for lack of a better one) to have the song accompanied by nothing at all. Nevertheless, I hope someone finds it enjoyable!
Gutters and Drains (2009)
[V1]
When I was younger
When I was just a child
I heard a phrase expressed with good intention
It was so hopeful
It was so free of doubt
Innocence led us all to treat it as a given
I tried to believe what so many said:
[Chorus]
'Don't you know what you can do, darling?
There's not an obstacle around.
Don't you see what you can be, baby?
There's not a limit to your world, no no no.'
But behold, there's no one-way street for
Anybody looking to find their way.
And we know, don't we all know, that the streets
Are lined with gutters and drains.
[V2]
When I was older
When I was insecure
Every refrain and echo passed right through me
It was too hopeful,
Lifted us up to fall
Promised to make some people slaves to their ambition
I didn't believe what so many said:
[Chorus]
'Don't you know what you can do, darling?
There's not an obstacle around.
Don't you see what you can be, baby?
There's not a limit to your world, no no no.'
And behold, there's no one way street for
Anybody looking to find their way.
And we know, don't we all know, that the streets
Are lined with gutters and drains.
[V3]
Now that I'm older still
Now that I've reasoned more
I can appreciate the good intention
Though we may stumble
Though we may never win
We can intend to go as far as we are able
I'll try to make best of what was said:
'Don't you know what you can do, darling?
There's not an obstacle around.
Don't you see what you can be, baby?
There's not a limit to your world, no no no.'

Come on, you gotta make an album for us all! I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Or submit it all to Itunes or something! This is too good for it not to get out more!

Actually, this song may be on iTunes soon enough. Somehow I will make an announcement when it's ready to go!

Hey, I noticed the rhythm track was a bit off--if your creating your own drum tracks in Garageband, you can get the timing of the drum hits perfect if you click on the editor at the bottom left and align the midi notes to the beat(whether it be every 1/8 or 1/4) Its really easy and would make the drum track sound perfectly in time. Congrats on getting featured.

Strangely, I've never noticed this about GarageBand. Thanks for the info!
