  • Would you reccomend this filter for a 20g high guppy breeder? I have the cruddy Tetra Whisper 10-30i in it. Im looking to upgrade filters very soon.

  • @ben191209 should be fine. really though the 20 would be better i know guppies dont really like a lot of flow but as long as you keep the flow on the low end with the 30 you should be fine. these are some of my favorite filters

  • Hey Eric. Just set up my 15 gallon shell dweller tank last week and i was wondering if you like this filter? Right now i'm running an aqua-tech 5-15 which you can get for a cheap price at walmart, and a little airstone. I've only got 5 breviskitumba fry that are less than 1/2 inch but for the future i may want to upgrade to this filter to get more flow. How do you like it so far? Also it's in my room and I'm very noise sensitive so do you think that this filter is quiet like really quiet or no?

  • @Braden8558 hey man....so far i really like the aqua clear filters. i have two of them atm and i plan to get another one for my 20 tall. havent had any problems with them. as far as them being quiet....other than the water i cant hear a thing...motor seems very quiet so i doubt that will be a problem for you. hope this helps man let me know if you got anymore questions.

  • @clempunk86 Also i was wondering about how you feed your fry? What you feed them and how often you feed them? I have my Brevis Kitumba fry and the guy that gave them to me noticed them on December 15 so they aren't that old. He gave me some hikari first bites which i have been feeding and then i went out yesterday and got some omega one chichlid flakes. I will probably start to grind those up and feed them. Would i be able to do live brine shrimp? Are they to big for the fry?

    Thanks, Braden

  • @Braden8558 well the first cpl of weeks i was feeding them first bite only...and im assuming they were picking up scraps that the adults in my tank left from the frozen brine i feed them. after they started to grow i fed hikari first bites and crushed omega one flakes so youre good there..now i feed them twice a day...frozen brine first...and then crushed omega one before the lights go off.

  • @clempunk86 Thank you. Do you think that it will do a 15 gallon well? I would probably run it with the aquatech 5-15 HOB power filter and just use one of them for biological filtration. My main reason is can you check out my latest update video on the 15 gallon tank and see if i need more airflow or not? That's basically the reason i would get this because i know that shell dwllers need a lot of oxygen in their water.

  • I got a aquaclear 70 for my 20 gallon tank lol

  • i have the 110 gallon also on my 75 gallon cichlid tank with a sandy bottom same problem but rarely happens and just have to take the bottom off (Easy) and rinse propeller and it is my favorite hang on back filter

  • @dirtdrag yeah man its still going strong...havent had any problems with it....ive actually bought a cpl more for my other tanks. so yeah..highly recommend it
