Not the best example of the best way to make good use of this splitter but at least we know it is available and how to set the cutting edges. It is up to the user to determine the best way to attack a log and make it into the best firewood. The machine can't always do everything for the user.

cool that splits as much as my gun powder powerd splitter
-
it needs to be split again its still way to thick

The best thing in this video is the old Chevy in the back ground, they don't make them like they used to.

Nice splitter! Although I don't like the 4way attached to the piston that way.On my TW 5 I often have to throw it off for really big wood or knarly stuff. Good vid.

Same tonnage, and cycle time with a 2hp smaller motor, I'd call the tw-5 more efficient, especially with a 6 way wedge and conveyor option. Raycos design is great but too coincidentally similar. as far as wedge down pressure? Not really useful unless you want to bend the wings under your wedge. I dont need to mess with pulling pins to change from single wedge to 4 way, to 6 way. Does Rayco make a 6 way wedge option? Both machines are great and make it fun to build mountains of wood. best wishes.

Rayco used to make a six way option but it was pulled from production for unknown reasons.
The down pressure is usefull for when you get those stringy pieces that hang on to the end.
as for pulling pins i rarely had to pull the wedge off. pins keep the wedge attached to the machine so there is no need to have a loose heavy metal wedge in the back of a truck. (might be a hazzard in an accident) But you are correct either one will be tough to beat on the wood lot
thanx 4 the posts, be safe.
