how do u learn these songs, how long does it take, and how long did it take to get as good as u r now

I have various ways of learning songs.I`ll start listening to the tune.After becoming familiar with the tune I`ll sit down at my kit and start playing the tune concentrating on the parts I don`t have .If I have trouble playing the song I begin charting the tune.Hopefully it dosn`t take to long.The Stones took 4 hours other songs have taking up to 30.I`m always trying to improve but after 10 years of drumming it`s more like a life long pursuit.
