A commercial spoof using a 1979 chevette. Great damn car, no frills, it's gets 35 MPG and parts are cheap.

  • this is one of those cars that a V6 or V8 swap would do wonders.

  • I want to drop a Dodge 360 in there!

  • LMAO.. You did some good work on this video.. I remember those cars like yesterday. They were good cars as long as you kept them out of the salt. I still see one on the road every once in a while now that I live in the south (where there was no salt to annihilate the strut towers and undercarriage..)

  • The salt is really what is killing me. It's later and I have the car now. I need to weld a new floor pan and also in many places where the salt did kill it. Do you know of anyone doing a weld job on that? I'm attempting it on this same car in a week or so. Excited to have it as my car when I turn sixteen!

  • nothing said in this video is true. i have an 84 and its worse then the one portrayed. :(

  • The point is not to be accurate. This is a parody. And believe me, the attractive earth tone styling is not a lie. This car is friggin sexy

  • Absolutely hilarious I love it lol. Chevettes take a HUGE beating as a yard car.

  • Yea i owned several magnums and had the same problem...clutch cables, they would break regularly, had to drive home crashing the gears, not cool!

  • I owned a 1980 bought it new in 1979 it did not come with a radio and was a 5 speed

and one common problem was I had to carry a clutch cable and vice grip. I t would break in the most worse times. One other problem it would not stop on wet pavment even with new tires!

  • you could use a new set of hubcaps [; they really top off the look of the car IMO.

  • "disc and drum breaks" ... LMAO

  • I remember when these cars first came out. With a name like Chevette I was expecting a cross between a Chevelle and a Corvette

  • @compwiz878 cool man !

  • @vitorlcl yeah a 250 cui il6 would be a nice engine for the chevette but ive drivine a 2.8 v6 from a chevey s10 pickup truck yeas the 2.8 v6 was used in the camaros to but this was outta truck also drove a 4.3 v6 efi in a chevette they both where realy sleepers and daily drivers

  • @doferty i can agree with taht ive done the same to my old 81 i had took off road a few time just to go hit up some fishing holes and didnt get stuck it was also a tank in the snow to i think the rear end was doctored up put some good snow tires on the rear and go any where with no probs and it had a realy good heater to to the point u had to run it on low and put a window or 2 down

  • @leafsrule16 hell yes it would all power lol theres no weight to the chevette
