A film about how our own government is screwing us over when it comes to public services, specifically when it comes to health care. If they can find money for perpetual war, they can find (our) money for services for us. It also shows how nationalized medicine does NOT equate to socialism, and how the health of our nation would improve through nationalized medicine.

By the way, Michael Moore's ironic and semi-morbid humor is absolutely hilarious as always!!! This film almost makes me want to move to Canada, France or Cuba! But I am attached to my hometown, and I have faith in my fellow country men and women, that they will muster up the courage to shake off their fear of their government, rise up, see themselves as worthy human beings, and demand their God given rights! Don't stop making movies Michael! ...And: "live long, and prosper." ;-)
Another idea: since firemen and police are paid by the city, why not do the same with universal-healthcare? Just get your local city counsel to vote it in. (You may get lots of out-of-towners though; but in this movie, Cuba, a very poor country, didn't seem to mind, so why should we withhold our goodwill? And it may encourage people to go back and get their own city counsels to enact the same laws.) Power to the people!
I think the main problem with Obama's plan is that HE IS NOT just completely eradicating all insurance companies, (the greedy, unaccountable, non-liable, corporate middleman, as PROFIT is the nature of the beast,) and making a real government-operated universal-healthcare program, like in Canada, France and Cuba, like Michael Moore shows us in this film (Sicko). Watch "THE CORPORATION" on YouTube for a better understanding of why insurance companies will never work, no matter what the plan is.
the true problem is the fact that obama's campaign inspired by "change" is a blatant lie. bush raised the defecit by 300% (from 2 to 8.5 trilion) during his 8 year stay and obama himself has raised it in this half year half of what bush raised it by in 8 years ( obama increased the defecit to 11.5 trillion). along with this, he's planning to pull out anywhere from .9-1.2 trillion dollars to initiate the plan with socializing health care. with this he will imo collapse the american economy.
i think the room was in a mess because micheal wants to show the audience that american insurance companies are really cruel, selfish group of people...they earn through other people's lost..
This movie was pretty heavy-handed. I could barely watch the portion where the taxi left the patient to wander the street alone. These things should not happen in a so-called First World country.
