we all have automatics becuse this fucking country would fall apart if it couldn't hold a coffe while driving the kiddies to school... personaly i want a 5 speed so my wife and freinds can't drive it, and i can have fun

That's crap. Higher end cars tend to only have automatic transmissions, even in Europe. Think Mercedes S-class and BMW 7-series. It is considered a luxury in Europe, not specifically for the elderly. In the US, the 940 was only sold with an automatic because of the demographic it was aimed at, middle-aged professionals and families. The 850 was offered with a manual in the US because of its sportier image and younger demographic. Marketing sense.

That's funny! It's only common in the USA to have automatic transmissions in every vehicle. In the rest of the world, automatics are generally reserved for the elderly and/or infirm.
