is it possible to import japanese phones to europe?, im also planing to go to tokyo next year adws wondering if i bought a phone while i was there would it be possible to bring the phone back with me or would i be tied to a contract that wouldnt allow me? lol sorry for the long questions and cool video ^-^

Two things will prevent you from using a Japanese phone in Europe: its mobile network standard and vendor phone lock. Apart from Softbank that has a number of GSM phones, Japanese cellphone companies tend to use standards that are only used in Japan, making your phone worthless outside. Then there's the fact that your phone will be locked and I don't know of anyone that can unlock Japanese phones and I doubt the Japanese company will do it, unlike European and North American phones.

Kind of, like, you don't need to talk to your provider or anything, it gets them from airwaves so it's kind of like radio, but you do need to set up which region and such that you're from, or you can let it auto-scan for channels and it checks what your phone can receive. It takes a minute or so, nothing too bad. The first time I tried to scan, and then we were heading downstairs to the subway, so... That didn't pick up much :P
