@l4ddude100 kindly try and read the past messages and you'd soon find out how we got into Kung fu in the first place...
P.S. > we're very much aware this isn't kung fu...
-
@bigjoe777 why are you guys talking about kung fu this vid is about eskrima
-
@bigjoe777 So you know the entire western world? You must be a great traveler then.
-
@An0niempje I am part of that west. So I know what I've basically lived along with.
-
@bigjoe777 I don't argue about that, it's only that most teachers try to disguise that part of their training as something else, as in the west, indeed people are lazy and much focused on avoiding pain.
I'd like to ask you not to judge western people if you don't know them, we're not all the same.
-
@An0niempje Pain has always been the essential form for discipline and practice. To not endure such would dull your fighting senses. You need it to learn. By experiencing pain, your body registers and learns more of preventing the cause of pain thereby improving your battle stance. Pain improves and molds the trainee into a fighter. Just like how much parents use corporal punishment to discipline their kids. Kids out west are way too lax and abusive towards their parents because they lack it.
-
@sprawlmessiah You should go out more.
-
@bigjoe777 ok sorry bout the misreading - I don't want to get too technical but in a way we're right. Environments can influence an art, and intended purpose fuels strategy like iaido being a swordsmanship only martial art and kung fu being primarily about combat endurance and fluidity
-
@serenadesilhout "actually create kung fu" i didn't say they created kung fu, i said "helped promote and create the different martial arts" kung fu is merely the adaptation of the indian self defense techniques brought from india by the monks to teach the peasants to defend themselves during those troublesome times back then. And besides, the chinese devised their own self defense techniques out of the indian techniques to better fit their fighting style.
"Make him pain, give him pain." Now that is a hardcore teacher.
