  • I love my Pontiac Torrent. And I love the sound of the engine.

Top that Ford, Toyota, and Honda!!! Don't think so.

  • nothing better than being satisfied with your purchase. Good to hear!

  • Your rather harsh on some of the points of this torrent, exhaust, braking and throttle tip in. You do realize this is not the only model of the Torrent its the sporty version and if your not happy with the specific GXP package the non GXP models will probably not exhibit any of the "problems" you experienced with this model.

  • I do agree with you on that point, I didn't get a chance to drive any base model Torrents so I had to review what I was given. I liked the vehicle, put I thought the attempt at "sporty" was a bit pushed.

  • One thing is for sure: The 3.6L DOHC sounds smoother and more willing to rev. I have a 2006 Torrent with the infamous 3.4L and let me tell you, the sound is NOT fun at 5000RPM. Sounds harsh... :( However, it very versatile for carring hugh amounts of cargo, families relatives and lots of groceries! Hehe!

  • you're right about that, the 3.6. is eager to rev and smooth when you do. And yes the Torrent/Equinox do have great cargo abilities. I'm also a musician so I often judge a vehicle by its ability to carry my gear (amps, cabinets, guitars, etc..) and the Torrent with the 2nd row down swallowed my gear no problem!(you can check out my band on itunes: Subtle Groove)

Check out my other reviews and leave me some comments too, I appreciate them.

  • i picked my Torrent over the Equinox because the Torrent has a better looking inside than the Equinox :X besides, i wanted the black/chrome interior versus the tan cloth in the Equinox and such that was available where i was looking.

  • oh and i actually like the sound it makes when i accelerate. it drove a lot smoother than the Equinox when i test drove both of them as well. :T

  • "As you see Im 5' 8 and I have quite a bit of leg room back here" Not to be rude but, thats because you're 5' 8. Im 6' 3 and Im getting my G2 on the weekend of the Great Britain GP and Im getting this from my Mom who got a new Lexus GS430.

  • could you have the dog bark some more?

  • @MidnightinSavannah I agree. This is the only flaw I find.

  • Only complaint i have about my Torrent is the turning radius.

  • why doesnt the torrent have a v8

  • my grandpa has a torrent gxp i drove it for 5 hours on the highway for the first time he let me open it up..... lets just say 115 before i even left the onramp aint to bad for suv

  • i LOVE my torrent i would choose over the new tahoe

  • to me the torrent is wider than the equinox but the equinox is longer i like the torrent better though it looks more luxurious on the outside and it is better than the equinox
