Driving on Holter Lake Montana. My buddy in his 2005 Ford Ranger nearly breaks an axle when re-entering the pavement. It was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit that day. And when the Sheriff rolled up we thought we were in trouble. When actually he cheered us on thru his loud speaker afterwards. Shows how laid back Montana is since there isn't much crime out there.

@Sbarney37873 I mean you're not even allowed to step on the ice, let alone fish through it. It could be 5 feet thick with 2 feet of water to the ground and they'd still call it unsafe (safety being their reasoning for restricting it).

Keep in mind it's California. Just yesterday we got the edge of a little storm, with the higher elevations getting no more than a foot of snow in the end. As soon as the first snowflake hit the ground, the CHP shut one freeway (the "Grapevine") entirely.

@Sbarney37873 Believe it or not, it's actually a SERIOUS offense to step on just about any lake here while it's frozen. (yes, we have lakes here that freeze over in the winter).

@supersnot4 Especially this day and age. They have ways to twist the law around until you are guilty.. same with freedom of speech... They can twist it into a death threat or disturbing the peace, inciting a riot. things like that
