In 2007, a perfect stranger saved the life of 11-year-old Joshua Conley by donating bone marrow to him. Joshua was battling a deadly form of lymphoma and needed a bone marrow transplant. Aaron Vilhauer, an 18-year-old man living on the other side of the country, decided to register as a bone marrow donor and just a few months later, was found to be a perfect match for Joshua.

In August 2010, Joshua and Aaron celebrated the three-year anniversary of the transplant by registering new lifesavers at a donor drive in Joshua's hometown of Standish, ME.
