Wonderful performance and song!

@SouLoveReal Absolutely. That was back when Republicans were concerned with the public good. Back then they knew if the people were doing well the businesses would thrive. 'Trickle Down' theory hadn't done its damage yet! Pearl was a great ambassador to Africa. Her "Bags of Beans' campaign was an intelligent and creative way to help starving people survive. (Kinda off topic but interesting trivia..)

Dang, this actually brought me to tears! Good thing Donny was on that stage instead of me, I would've been a sobbing mess on TV.

@SouLoveReal She may have been a Republican back then, but she wouldn't be now. Miss Pearl was nobody's fool. She could spot a phoney a mile a way, and a lot of todays so called Republicans are not true American's but sell outs that are willing to sell the country to the highest bidder.

they both sound so sad in the intro, like they're about to cry.

Miss Pearl Bailey, did she not marry drummer Louie Bellson in 1952 & stayed wedded until her passing.
I met Pearl Bailey in 1990 just before she died. She was most interseting and is a classy person! I was lucky enough to get my picture taken with her!
