This is home footage of the earthquake, they are south of Miyagi but still feel the shaking!!
Two earthquakes, one a 7.4-magnitude earthquake 25 miles (40 kilometers) under the water and off the coast of Miyagi prefecture, caused buildings as far away as Tokyo to shake for about a minute on Thursday

@TheRasengan25 .. The New Madrid cannot produce a 10... Neither can the San Andreas as ASAJITODD stated. Your fault line is smiliar to ours which means it can produce a 7.0-7.5 easy. The Big One for us here is expected to be a 7.8-8.2.. but a Japan style quake would be in the Pacific Northwest on the Cascadia Subduction zone which could produce a 9.0-9.5.. that is scary. The only difference our buildings are up to code yours are not.

@TheRasengan25 Is this even English? And where are you getting your information, please? I would like to know.

@TheRasengan25 First of all, write properly. Second of all, the New Madrid fault line is actually in the process of becoming an inactive fault line. If anywhere in the U.S. were to have a 10.0 earthquake it would be California.

OK i live in Missouri in the united states and scientists are expecting a rupture in the new Madrid fault which is a plate which is where i live and its supposed to be a 10.
0 and if this happens this is going to be the worst death ratio and the worst earth quake in the history of anything. the last time that the new madrid ruptured was in 1809 Approx.
