Jamal Mashburn and Jim Jackson go on a scoring tear against the Jordanless Chicago Bulls. Mashburn scores his career-high 50 points by over-powering Scottie Pippen in the post, making several and-1s and draining a few threes. 20 of Jamal's points come in the 3rd quarter. Meanwhile Jim Jackson started the game rather quiet, however dropped 23 points on the Bulls during the 4th quarter and overtime with acrobatic lay-ups and by getting to the line. Wayne Larrivee even calls Mashburn's performance "Jordanesque", Johhny "Red" Kerr also notices the similarities. November 12, 1994.

  • @mray2081 I know. Pat actually mentioned this game once the trade was done though! The game made a lasting impression.

  • @Shareefllovekdj Mash wasn't traded to the Heat til 97 this game was in 94

  • Scottie was sleeping. Jamal was not yet considered a top player. The very next game they played Scottie was much more aggressive holding Jamal to poor %s while scoring over 30 in a triple double if memory serves. Still, remembering this game is what caused Pat Riley to trade for him during Don Nelson's fire sale. So the game made Mash a lot of money!

  • Mashburn was so great to watch in college and I just wish he could have had more of a chance to shine in the NBA. One of the greatest of all-time.

  • I remember watching an espn clip where a sports analyst said Jamal Mashburn loved playing against scottie pippen and now I know why.

  • @BrutallyH0nest I know exactly what youre talking about. Matter of fact every time he played Mashburn he wasnt letting him breathe

  • @TheBerginton They were only together two years. The three didn't seem to mesh well together. The Hornets are another team that could've been good if Larry Johnson didn't have the career-altering back injury and they had kept Alonzo.

  • Only player off the top of my head that made prime Pip look this bad was Penny Hardaway.

  • Oh yea, good upload, I always wanted to see this game and see what went wrong.

  • Just like players have off nights on offense sometimes great defenders have off nights on defense and this was one of them for Pippen. A lot players have bad nights on defense their whole careers and Mashburn is one of them players.
